Account data: if you create an account, we store your email address and a display name you choose. Observation data: any bird sightings you record are stored so you can access them across devices. We do not collect precise location data unless you choose to attach it to an observation. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.

• To provide and maintain the BetterBirding service
• To sync your observations across your devices
• To improve the app based on anonymized usage patterns
• To communicate with you about your account or the service

Data Retention

We retain your account and observation data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.

We use only essential session cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

Third-Party Services

BetterBirding is hosted on Vercel and uses Neon for database hosting. These providers may process data as necessary to deliver their infrastructure services. We do not integrate third-party ad networks or analytics SDKs.

Children’s Privacy

BetterBirding is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
