Species notes

Overview

One of only two parrots on Norfolk Island; compare with immature Crimson Rosella, which is much longer-tailed and differs in overall coloration. Previously very rare, but active conservation management has restored numbers.

Behavior

Gives noisy nasal yammering calls.
