Species notes
Note grayish streaked crown (blue/green in similar Sacred Kingfisher). Upper-wing is entirely blue in flight. Seen well, the rusty rump is obvious.
Perches on high dead trees or powerlines. Excavates tunnel nests in earth-walls and banks.
