Species notes
High-arcing flight in high winds, as in other gadfly petrel species. Similar to dark-morph Kermadec Petrel, which shows white shafts in primary feathers in the upperwings, lacking in Providence.
Upperparts sometimes show grayish, almost silvery grizzled appearance.
